HOW
Francesco is going to remain underwater at a medium level of depth of about 10 mt. so much that he reaches his own limits.
Usually a man can remain submerged, with artificial aqualung, for about 5-10 hours.
Francesco’s challenge will be successful if he stays in immersion for at least 24 hours, till a maximum of 36 hours.
A whole day or a day and a helf, in which he will live in contact with the submarine environment, moving inside a fictitious path, without sleeping and feeding only with lyophilized food and some juices to maintain his own hydrosalty balance unaltered.
Moving underwater will make the challenge more and more difficult and dangerous, because beside the endurance to the submarine environment, for longer periods, we have to add the physical effort lunked to the bodily movements made underwater which are , as we know, harder than the ones made outside.
Let’s think about the effort of a were swim, in comparison with a run or a stroll!!!
During the submersion he will wear wet swits, which will restrict the contact of the skin with the sea-water, and use oxygen bottles, lasting on the overage 2 hours, will be substituted uderwater with all the relative difficulties.
An exciting challenge, full of scientific aspects which leads man into the sea , for a day or more and Francesco will remain in a completely hostile environment.
This trial is for Francesco an inner and metaphysical voyage, in which a man goes back to live, helped by underwater technologies, in a “place” the sea that was once life-embryo on earth, where the first sigus of Life began.
A return to the origins by man, who has never put limits to his nature challenging it in the places where life seemed to be impossible.
For a stronge coincidence, Colletta’s challenge happens just now that at 55 million km, on Mars man is looking for traces of life through the presence of water.
With Endlessdiving he is looking now for the sense of life going back to the place in which it expresses itself in the most varied beautiful and extreme forms.
A love message for the sea and for the mankind: let’s treat it with care. As it, besides giving us so much today in terms of resources but above all in terms of biological richness, will be one day the place in which man might live!!!
